He claimed that he had a Masters degree in Hematology from Egypt, when the degree had not been granted to him. Council acted under section 36 of The Medical Profession Act, 1981 which permits the Council to revoke a licence where a physician has been improperly registered. Although Dr. El-Sayed's licence was revoked, he was issued a new licence subject to the restriction that Dr. El-Sayed may only practice under the supervision of a duly qualified medical practitioner approved by the Council.
